Most basketball hoops let you to adjust the height of your rim from 7 as well as a half for the regulation height of 10 feet. On specific greater end basketball objectives, they may possibly be able to modify even decrease. However the method by which these systems modify can differ extensively.

Adjustment methods fall in two key categories: individuals that allow for six-inch increments and people that allow for “infinite” increments. A basketball rim that adjusts in six-inch increments can adjust at six points in involving 7 as well as a half and a 10 feet: 7.five, 8, 8.five, 9, 9.five and ten feet. With systems which might be infinitely adjustable, you happen to be in a position for making extremely tiny adjustments, like and inch or much less in case you so wish, which means you can set it at any point in between the minimum and maximum height.

I'm not sure if the New York Knicks have all the pieces in place right now, but by adding Carmelo Anthony they are certainly one big step closer to being a NBA championship contender. Although considering the mismanagement over the last 10 years it's heard to believe they won't mess this up too.

Watch for the Knicks to make some strong stragetic moves during this off season to sure things up and make them a true Eastern conference powerhouse.

New York NY Direct TV can bring you all the Knicks action you want.

Two cities that produce NBA Eastern Conference contenders also have the two teams that are favored to win the Super Bowl as the NFL playoffs are set to begin this weekend.

NBA spread betting experts might recognize that Atlanta and Boston produce two East contenders and with the Falcons and Patriots, both cities have the Super Bowl XLV juggernauts as well.

Just as in the NBA’s East, Atlanta’s team is viewed with an eye of pessimism. The Falcons had a great regular season but don’t have a ton of playoff experience. They’re a young squad that is gaining it on the fly.

Meanwhile, Boston’s team - just like in the NBA – is experienced, savvy and has done it before. The Patriots are the odds-on favorites to do it all and considering they’ve won it three times this decade, why bet against them?

Basketball betting is not quite as common as betting on some other sports, but if you do your research, take your time and keep accurate records, there’s no reason you can’t be as successful at betting on basketball as betting on anything else. Here are a few tips to get you started.

Top Basketball Betting Tip: NCAA vs. NBA

Of course you are welcome to bet both college and pro basketball (including the WNBA), like placing your bets in online video poker games, you need to be aware that each type of basketball may have very different factors in play. In college basketball, every game counts, whereas pro teams can afford to drop a few games here and there and still have a great shot at the championship. There may be a much larger disparity between two competing college teams. Know the league you’re betting.

I really like the direction this team is going but I'm not so sure they can really be a contender in the East this year.  The East has gotten a lot stronger over the last few years and while I think they can make the playoffs I don't really see any chance that they can really beat The Magic, the Heat, the Celtics, of the Bulls.  And I'm skeptical they can even beat teams like the 76ers or the Hawks.

What do you think?

About time! Finally the Miami Dolphins have a legitimate number one receiver in the recently acquired Brandon Marshall. The Denver Broncos traded the talented but troubled Marshall for Miami’s second round draft pick in this year and next year’s draft.

Chad Henne (or Chad Pennington) will now have an explosive passing game with the addition of Marshall. The 6 foot 4 229lbs receiver will provide the need element that Miami has desperately needed for several years.

2009 Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes was traded to the New York Jets for a fifth round pick in this year’s draft. Holmes spent his first four years with the Pittsburgh Steelers and had one year left in his contract.

Holmes, who will be suspend for the first four games of the season due to a league violation, will provide another weapon for the Jets QB Mark Sanchez along with last years trade acquisition Braylon Edwards.

The 2010 NFL Draft in a couple of weeks will provide some interesting choices for the Miami Dolphins, especially in the needed linebacker position. With veterans Joey Porter leaving to the Arizona Cardinals and Jason Taylor still unsigned, the Dolphins are looking to the draft to fill those spots.

This year’s draft has a strong pool of linebackers and according to ESPN’s Mel Kipper, “its because there are a lot of combo guys”. With defensive ends that can play outside linebackers, like Georgia’s Tech Derrick Morgan, who would fit well in the Dolphins’ 3-4 scheme. Analysts also have Texas’ Sergio Kindle, Tennessee’s Dan Williams, and possibly USF Jason Pierre-Paul.

What is Gary Wichard thinking? He is Jason Taylor’s agent and the person who convinced the 13-year veteran to head up to New York and talk to the Jets. Taylor, who is well known for his bitterness towards the Jets, has yet to be resigned by the Miami Dolphins but has made it known that he wants to stay with the team he has spent the majority of his career with. Miami’s General Manager, Jeffery Ireland, has said that the team won’t make a move to resign Taylor till after the upcoming draft.

Taylor return back to Miami unsigned despite the warm welcome he received from current Jets players while visiting with them during a voluntary team workout. The Dolphins-Jets rivalry is one of the few in the NFL that has lasted for decades and to have a vetted player like Taylor

Im sure you have all seen Miami's struggles this year.  Although Wade claims its a team effort, it's obvious to him and to us that he needs not more talent, but quality players. His fustrations reflect on the court, on the zigzag scoring droughts and barrages that the Miami Heat produce. If we can't wait for the trades to juice up the NBA roster next year, you think Wade can? Yes, millions of dollars are at stake but that's not what's important. Wade wants to Win Period.
